Elebration Cards

*Hi Crafters!

Just revisited my ELEBRATION stamp - my physician has recently been granted the gift of a newborn grandson and since I was scheduled for an appointment, I brought along a Valentine card for the little fella!  As a boy, I wanted this to be sweet but not too  pink and here is what I came up with......and it was well-received!

Card Front

Ooops!  I added a small red bow over the pink scallop trim before I left and forgot to take a picture!  Oy! So picture this with a  red bow - blogging is sometimes on the fly if you know what I mean, lol!

I used our new HEARTS FRAMELITS to quickly cut those hearts!  Then I embossed with our Texture Embossing Folders - of which we have many....check out our catalogue!  Here I have used Perfect Polka Dots and Stripes

Heart Framelits - NEW PRODUCT!!!

AND now onto the inside where you'll see the same little cute elephant as I used
in a birthday card not long ago!  Isn't he a sweetie with his little cake and all!
To make this a Valentine Card and not a birthday one, I covered the candle with
a punched out Heart {use Small Heart Punch}.....and the balloons with more hearts {Heart to Heart Punch}........works like a charm!
He's been coloured with our chalks and markers, and I couldn't help but draw little hearts
floating off into the air!  TOTAL FUN making this!!

ELEBRATION STAMP
sold as a single in the A la Carte section of the
Idea Book and Catalogue from Stampin' Up!

Its a coincidence that both these cards are for boys!   But you can see the
versatility of this stamp!  Use your own imagination to change this up!

Sweet craftin'!

1rst Birthday Card for a Boy!

Boy oh boy - this stamp has been just sitting waiting for the right project - and one finally came along!!!

A Happy Birthday for a boy turning 1 years old - well, you can't beat that - unless it's a girl turning 1 too!

But how adorable is this stamp, ELEBRATION?   Huh or what!  Its one of the A la carte stamps on page 18 of Stampin' Up!'s main Idea Book and Catalogue.

Now here is what was created with the special boy in mind.....

As handsome as this is in Night of Navy and More Mustard Cardstock - this stamp will be astonishingly CUTE in pinks or soft pastels for a lovely girl!   And its equally fun in bright, cheery colours for any occasion - maybe you know some elephant people out there - a zookeeper perhaps?  [secretly wish I was a zookeeper!] .....anyways, its a great stamp!

Cheers!

Baby Notecard Set - Soft and Easy!

Hi - looking for a Baby Shower Gift?

I designed a notecard set which uses really simple shapes and soft colours which could be used as a gift for an expectant Mom - or even for yourself if you'd like to have a sweet collection of ready-made cards.  I chose soft colours when I was first experimenting, and liked the results, but you could substitute many colour combinations!

Recycle some scraps. Create a fun grid of polka dots by using the small 1/2 inch circle punch......and our RETIRING Trio Flower Punch (can't believe it!) to add interest.
A butterfly - highlights the polka dot as well.

The box is 9 inch x 5-1/2 inch  with a 1/2 inch base scored in the middle. Two strips of paper, scored to make 3 sections, each 1/2 inch wide, are attached along the sides.

The front panel has a half -circle cut away to create a pocket to tuck a tag into.

Embossing the cardstock with polka dots and a simple design means the cards can be used for many purposes - thank you, birth announcement, 1rst birthday......etc. Flexibility!

To help the appearance, I staggered the height of the cards - this way,
all the colours show when stored in the box.

Time to make: 1 hour or less.
Level of Difficulty: Easy

Hope you try this - email me for instructions if you like!

Look Who's Turning Stamp Set - Baby Card

Here's my first real card using my "Look Who's Turning" stamp set as I mentioned in my last post....and my idea to put my Big Shot 'Bigz Scalloped Circle' came about because we were using it this past week-end {showing that post later - stay tuned!}.......and I think I came up with a pleasant idea of making different sized scalloped circles turn into the beginnings of a "baby rattle"!

I cut 4 scalloped circles - 2 large on my Big Shot, and then used a hand-held punch to cut out a smaller circle from the center of one of the big circles. Then the fourth was an even smaller scalloped circle cut from white cardstock. I used a hidden cardstock ring to raise the front of the card a bit. Hope that all made sense - lol

Using various shades of pink ink, I stamped my adorable octopus on Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White cardstock and then used their Large Scallop Oval to punch it out. Before layering it on, I used a hint of ink to create a pink shadow.

A strip of cardstock, another circle - and a few added images to the bottom, and my greeting and I was done. This took about 15 mins. Pretty good I'd say!

Hope you enjoy it!
