Easter Cake Stand Centerpiece

Happy Easter,

Here's a quick Easter centerpiece using a cake stand {minus the dome}....and it only takes minutes to make!

You need:

A cake stand
small basket
faux leaves (3 large or about 5 medium)
faux spring flowers
straw grass (plain or coloured)
Easter decorations = eggs, small nests, bunnies or similar objects.
Optional
A can and something to help anchor it down [tape, marbles, pennies, etc]
doily or paper to decorate can lid [or use the straw grass]
ribbons

INSTRUCTIONS
Decide on your decorations and which will be the main features.
Then arrange the leaves and grass around the plate - much like a wreath.

Situate a can in the center of a small basket. You should weigh the can down with marbles, pennies or something so it isn't easily knocked over. Hide the lid/can with a doily or straw.

Next place your small basket in the center of the cake plate nestled in your leaves/straw arrangement. Add your main decoration in the basket situated on the hidden can - I used a ceramic Bunny. This raises the decoration among its surrounding, which adds ' visual interest'.

Now sprinkle the flowers and other decorations amongst the leaves, straw and center basket. I used eggs, a small nest, and another ceramic bunny. I also added a couple of butterflies!  You could also do some ribbons somewhere - pretty!

That's it!  This is only a guideline - feel free as a bird to design an arrangement - it looks great no matter how you arrange it.....like having a small piece of Nature adorning your home!

Happy Easter :)

Friend Spring Card

I started this card by staring at some green/cream plaid cardstock.  In trying to be experimental, I decided to "add" a little extra to this cardstock and chose STAMPIN' UP!'s " MUSIC NOTES " Wheel Stamp because it's always a compatible element - much like ' script text ' is when layered over another design.

I also love lilac and green together - and I LUV SU's Lucky Limeade colour!!!  I'm really into greens, and because this colour will be gone by June 1 because its a temporary IN COLOR, I may have to order packs and packs of it!!!  I am really hoping SU adds it to the regular line-up {they DID say they would from time to time} because its one of those nice lemony-green shades I am drawn to most of all greens.

Anyways this card is pretty self-explanatory - lots of punching going on. Oh - I "dyed" my twine using SU chalks, that was messy but fun as I used my fingers, ha ha!

OK, thanks for dropping by!

Creative-Sketch CS25H Holidays and Celebrations

CS25H

Inside Greeting ' Happy Easter '

Hello, today I am entering a challenge!  I have not entered one here before, but over at Creative-Sketches there is a challenge today called CS25H Holidays and Celebrations and I have chosen to make an Easter Card for a friend!

To do this, I have chosen my INSPIRED BY NATURE stamp - using the floral image (it's a double-mounted stamp - opposite side has grass!) because it feels like Spring to me and I wanted my card to not be over-the-top Easter, but something more simplier and relaxed.

I have made the focal piece using our SCALLOP CIRCLE Bigz Die (the scallop red circle) and then layered it with Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White cardstock, followed naturally,  nestled in the center,  my stamped image!

My ribbon is a thin strip of paper cardstock (Whisper White )  run through our Crimper tool, and sponged ever-so-gently with PEACH PARFAIT ink.

The two tiny tags (say that 10 times!) tied on are made with our MEDIUM JEWELLERY TAG punch - and decorated with co-ordinating stamps, TINY TAGS and one little sequin for good luck, lol.

My Easter Greeting is on the inside - stamped in a row - kinda different, but simple too.

I also had fun trying a new thing - using GLUE DOTS and GLITTER!  How cool!  I found this idea from my friend Dee over in Australia, and another fantastic Stampin' Up! Demo!!

So head on over to check out Creative-Sketch's online site for more ideas - or if you have time, to try a challenge!

Stampin' Up! Bridal Paper as Easter Card - Lovely!

Hi everyone!

Sorry - I have no creativity when making up my titles for my posts! I'd better stick to my day job as a crafter, lol!

But that does not diminish this beautiful card made by my upline, Caroline - who is seriously talented.

Look what she did with our bridal paper!  I've known about this technique and have tried it using sponges, but now I own a brayer, so I am going to dig out my own bridal paper (white) which has its glossy design raised (or embossed) on the surface.  This way when you ink the paper up [shown here in CAMEO CORAL, ROSE RED, SO SAFFRON Stampin' Up! inks]...the raised white design will peek through after you wipe away the extra ink!  Cool huh!

That's one of the pretty tags from our SIZZIX TWO TAGS DIE (catalog item # 115954) and the close up shows more fun ideas to help you jazz up your projects...have a good look here....

....she has taken a SCALLOP CIRCLE PUNCH and sniped it to create flower petals, then used some of the sticky goo which adds a thick clear coat, CRYSTAL EFFECTS over a white brad, then sprinkled it with our go to glitter, DAZZLING DIAMONDS!

Give it a try ladies - email me your card designs - I'd love to feature them!

If your craving fun - why not COME TO CLASS and we'll make cards, scrapbook and many other projects! Email me for class details or placing orders - I'll be glad to assist you!

CLASS - HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT WE DID!

Hello fellow crafters......hope everyone is crafting on something this week!
Here is my furball as he was last week-end on our Easter Spring class - I'm sure he has no ideas in his lil' head as to what we were up to, lol!  Probably just hoping we'd have treats!

We DID have treats - and I owe a "Thank You!" to my daughter for taking time to decorate my mini-cupcakes so nicely - see aren't they cute?  She likes the decorating aspect - not so much the baking, ha ha...well, we all have our specialties, don't we!

Here are some of the results of the SUNDAY CLASS! Pretty nice! Everyone did such nice work!

In total, each member did 2 sets of a card & matching pillow favour box as I describe in my CLASS DETAILS in an earlier blog (dates are shown to the right side)...and one set is completely different in 'feeling' - and EVERYONE'S LOOKED FABULOUS!

BIG WELCOME to new crafters KIM and JULIA!

I will add more details to my LINK to my demonstrator blogging later on - check it out!

Meantime, I hope to see more of you in class - come on out and play!

Cheers, Beverly
